NFL owners have approved a plan to cover seats closest to the field with a tarp that will show sponsor logos.
Teams will be required to use the tarps on the first 6 to 8 rows of their stadiums.

Part of the reason is to keep fans and players more “socially distant” from each other.

The other upside is teams can sell advertising to put on the tarps to help recoup the money they will lose from fewer fans in the stands.
