Toronto Raptors Ranked ‘The Most Popular Team in the World’

Apparently, it wasn’t enough that Toronto won the NBA Championship. The Raptors have now earned the title of “the most popular basketball team in the world.”

In a ranking of teams based on Instagram mentions, the Raptors top the list of popular NBA teams with 28.9 million interactions, according to analyst Deportes & Fianzas. Toronto’s championship rival, the Golden State Warriors, follow with 24.8 million interactions.

Showing an almost disturbing lack of interest in non-championship teams, the next team on the list — the Milwaukee Bucks — comes in at a very distant third with less than 5,000 interactions.
